World of Warcraft : Shadowlands Reveal Event Pushed Back Due Protests

In light of the recent and ongoing protests in support of law reforms and racial equality, Blizzard has pushed back the date of its unveiling event for the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion, Shadowlands. The event, which was originally planned for June 9, has been rescheduled with an announcement date.

The event itself will likely remain directed by executive producer John Hight and game director Ion Hazzikostas, and it will give the first glimpses of what's expected in the upcoming expansion. We already know that Shadowlands will transport players to the world of the dead and it is likely to introduce some significant shifts in the story after the Battle of Azeroth. Shadowlands will also lower the cap on leveling to 60, as opposed to most expansions which have raised the level cap.

Blizzard is known to make a number of its most significant announcements at BlizzCon however, the event was cancelled due to coronavirus. Blizzard is believed to be contemplating hosting a digital event in 2021 rather than.
